More Than Just Classes: How PlanetSpark Helped Me Reconnect With My Daughter

Over time, that pressure created distance between us.

We didn’t argue. We just stopped connecting. She would stay in her room, and I would assume she needed space. Conversations became shorter, interactions more formal. It felt like we were living in the same house but not really sharing anything meaningful.

I came across PlanetSpark communication classes during a random scroll online. I wasn’t fully convinced, but something made me sign up for a trial. When I told Riya about it, she didn’t react much. That worried me more than resistance would have. It felt like she had already decided that nothing would work.

The first session confirmed my fears. She didn’t speak at all. I was disappointed again, and I almost repeated my usual reaction. But instead, I reached out to the coach and asked what I could do differently.

The response I received changed everything.

The coach explained that Riya didn’t need pressure to improve. She needed a space where she felt safe to make mistakes. And more importantly, she needed me to be part of that space, not someone evaluating her from the outside.

That made me rethink my approach completely.

Instead of focusing on results, I started focusing on time. After her classes, I would casually ask if she wanted to practice together. No pressure, no expectations. Initially, she refused. I didn’t insist.

A few days later, she agreed.

That first session at home was far from perfect. She spoke softly, lost track of her sentences, and seemed unsure. But instead of correcting her, I joined her. I made mistakes too. I exaggerated, laughed, and treated it like a shared activity rather than a task.

For the first time in months, she laughed freely.

That moment changed our routine. What started as occasional practice slowly became a daily habit. We spent time talking, practicing, and sometimes just sitting together discussing random things. I discovered sides of her I hadn’t seen before. Her opinions, her humor, her way of observing things.

The improvement in her communication came gradually, but the bigger change was in our relationship.

A few weeks later, she had to speak at a family function. She was nervous, but this time she didn’t avoid it. We practiced together, keeping things simple and realistic. On the day, she spoke. Not perfectly, but clearly enough. And when she came back, she said something that stayed with me — “It wasn’t as bad as I thought.”

Today, months later, she is still not someone who loves the spotlight. But she no longer fears it. She speaks when she wants to, and that choice has made all the difference.

For me, PlanetSpark reviews now feel more relatable because I’ve experienced that journey myself. It’s not about turning a child into a confident speaker overnight. It’s about creating an environment where they feel comfortable expressing themselves.

And sometimes, it also changes how we behave as parents.

If you are considering PlanetSpark classes, I would suggest trying a session first. Not just for your child, but also to understand how you can support them better.
