The Moment That Broke Me (and Woke Me Up)
Ek baar school mein “Show & Tell” activity thi.
Maine usse prepare bhi karwaya tha —
practice, notes, sab kuch.
But jab uska turn aaya…
He froze.
Literally kuch nahi bola.
Aur baad mein sirf ek line boli:
“Mumma, main nahi kar paaya.”
Us din mujhe realise hua —
yeh sirf speaking problem nahi hai… yeh confidence problem hai.
The Decision to Try Something New
Uske baad maine solutions dhundne start kiye.
YouTube videos, articles, classes…
aur tab mujhe PlanetSpark ke baare mein pata chala.
Honestly, mujhe doubt tha.
“Online class se confidence kaise aayega?”
But I thought —
“Let’s at least try.”
The First Few Weeks — Not What I Expected
Main jhoot nahi bolungi.
Starting mein mujhe laga:
- “Kuch khaas change nahi ho raha”
- “Same hesitation hai”
- “Yeh kaam karega bhi ya nahi?”
Aur main almost quit karne wali thi.
The Small Changes I Almost Ignored
Phir dheere dheere kuch choti choti cheezein change hone lagi:
- Pehle “no” → ab “maybe”
- Pehle silence → ab 1–2 sentences
- Pehle camera off → ab camera on
Yeh bade changes nahi the…
but they were real.
The Turning Point — “Mumma, I want to try”
Ek din class ke baad mera child aake bola:
“Mumma, next time main story bolunga.”
That was NEW.
Kisi ne force nahi kiya tha.
Koi pressure nahi tha.
Woh khud bol raha tha.
Aur wahi se actual transformation start hua.
The Process (That No One Sees)
Yeh overnight change nahi tha.
Yeh hua:
- Regular speaking practice
- Teacher ka constant encouragement
- Safe space jahan galti allowed thi
- Small wins celebrate karna
Aur sabse important —
fear slowly kam hona
From “I Can’t” to “Let Me Try”
1–2 months ke andar:
- Hesitation noticeably kam hua
- Sentence formation improve hua
- Participation increase hua
Aur sabse bada change:
👉 Mindset shift
“I can’t speak” → “Let me try”
The First Big Win
School mein ek speaking competition announce hua.
Normally, mera child ignore kar deta.
But iss baar…
he said:
“Mumma, main participate karna chahta hoon.”
I was shocked.
Nervous bhi.
Excited bhi.
The Competition Day
Main expect kar rahi thi:
- Nervous breakdown
- Last-minute refusal
But jo hua… woh unexpected tha.
He went on stage.
Thoda pause kiya.
Aur phir bolna start kiya.
Perfect nahi tha.
But confident tha.
And Then… He Won
Result announce hua —
he WON.
Main believe hi nahi kar pa rahi thi.
Woh same child jo bolta tha “I can’t speak”
aaj stage pe jeet gaya.
What Actually Changed?
Yeh sirf English improvement nahi tha.
✔️ Confidence build hua
✔️ Fear reduce hua
✔️ Expression improve hua
✔️ Self-belief develop hua
Aur yeh sab ek process tha — not magic.
What PlanetSpark Did Right
1. Gave a Safe Space
No judgement = more speaking
2. Built Confidence First
Fluency baad mein aayi
3. Encouraged Consistency
Regular practice = real growth
But Let’s Be Honest
Sab kuch perfect nahi tha.
❌ Slow Start
Initial weeks mein lagta hai kuch ho nahi raha
❌ Needs Patience
Quick results mindset se frustration hoga
My Biggest Learning as a Parent
Main pehle yeh sochti thi:
“Confidence sikhaya ja sakta hai quickly.”
But ab samajh aaya:
👉 Confidence grow hota hai
👉 Time lagta hai
👉 Aur environment matter karta hai
Final Thought — “It Was Never About Winning”
Competition jeetna great tha.
But real win kya tha?
👉 He tried
👉 He spoke
👉 He believed in himself
Aur honestly —
that matters more than any trophy.
For Parents Reading This
Agar aapka child bhi bolta hai:
“Mujhe nahi bolna”
“I can’t speak”
Toh please yaad rakho:
👉 Yeh permanent problem nahi hai
👉 Yeh fix ho sakta hai
👉 But slowly
