THE FUNNIEST LANGUAGE
The language that is know worldwide,
We have learnt it since we were a child.
You see it's a very funny language,
Yet people use it to give their message.
You'd wonder, "How is it funny?"
Let me tell you what I found in my study.
We'll begin with a 'proof' and the plural is 'proofs',
But the plural of 'roof' should be 'rooves', not 'roofs'.
The soldier decided to desert his dessert in the desert,
All the words sound similar, it's so much effort!
You may find a 'fungus' or a whole lot of'fungii',
Then shouldn't the plural of 'rumpus' be 'rumpii'?
Upon seeing the tear in my painting ,I shed a tear.
Oh God! This is so confusing, I'm in fear.
If one is a 'hero' but many are 'heroes',
Yet the plural of 'zero' should never be 'zeroes'
When the plural of 'die' is called 'dice',
Why shouldn't the plural of 'lie' be called 'lice'?
I take it, what I've been trying to tell you, you already know,
English is the funniest language, isn't it so?
