Protecting Endangered Species: A Guide to Environmental Protection

Protecting Endangered Species

Earth is a beautiful planet and includes vital resources we humans need to live, such as oxygen, water and food. For us humans, the most important assets on Earth are plants and animals, as they provide us with oxygen and food.

However, because of the greed of humans, they are using the resources on Earth so much that they are vanishing at a rapid rate. As a result, many of our species struggle to live and are on the verge of becoming extinct, such as the Red Sandalwood or Snow Leopard.

These species are categorised as Endangered Species under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). An endangered species is a category of plant or animal considered at risk of extinction.

Plants and animals are critical in managing our ecosystem, and if they are endangered, it means that the ecosystem is out of balance. Over time, this ecosystem can hurt humans, and there could be a lack of basic things such as oxygen and food.

One of the most important reasons for species being endangered is Climate Change. Every year, we see the heat getting more robust, and it becomes hard for the plants and animals to get water or shade.

It is up to us to understand that the endangered species need protection, and we have to contribute to protecting them. The most important step we all can take is to reduce climate change as much as possible by lowering pollution as it results in less rainfall and more heat.

You should also avoid plastic as it ultimately goes into the oceans and kills wildlife. We can also advocate what the governments are doing, such as India’s Tiger Project or climate protection treaties like the Paris Agreement.

Ultimately, we all should take an oath to protect endangered species by any means possible. Remember that we only have one planet to live and we should ensure it is protected at all costs.
