The Consequences of Cheating in Exams

I feel scared when I hear the word cheating and its consequences if you get caught. I have seen many classmates cheating in different ways to get good grades, but you should never even think of doing it.

There can be severe consequences, such as suspension, expulsion, hampering your reputation in school, etc.

Consequences of Cheating In Exams

The various consequences of cheating in exams include:

  1. Punishments:

The type of punishment and its severity varies from school to school. But, in my school, I have seen the principal punishing my fellow mate; she threatened to fail him for the entire course, and it was terrifying.

But, the punishment can be different as well as per the academic standards committee, such as suspension, reappearance for the exam, etc.

  1. Suspension:

Cheating can also lead to suspension and expulsion, but this punishment is usually given when the student has been caught cheating again or when cheating was egregious. In the suspension, the student who cheated is asked to be on leave for a certain period.

In expulsion, the student is asked to leave the school or college forever. Although such an instance has never happened in my school, I have heard of such instances in other schools.

  1. Academic reputation:

If you are dismissed from the school for doing unethical work such as cheating, it is tough for you to get admission to another school or college. It damages the academic reputation ultimately, and people will always ask questions about your educational capabilities.

You might even have to pursue your further studies through a community college to make your academic integrity better; only then you will be able to get admission to a reputed university.

I never bring this thought of cheating into my mind because my parents have also taught me that there is no shortcut to success.
