Introduction

A kid playing with his toy car

I had loads of toys at my home when I was a child. The main reason for this was that I was the first and only child in our entire family. I was the apple of my parents' eyes. My parents and relatives always adored me and brought me a lot of toys and gifts that would always make me happy. But out of all the toys that I had; my favourite toy was the bright red electric toy car.

The Day I Got The Toy

My bright red electric toy car was given to me by my dear father on my 10th birthday. It was so dear to me that I used to spend most of the day playing with it.

Description Of The Toy

The car's colour was a bright chilli red, and I was very fascinated by it. The red toy car ran on pencil batteries. It needed four pencil batteries put underneath the car in the battery box. When I used to switch it on, the car would start moving in all possible directions. It also had sensors on its crash guard. This sensor helped the toy car change its direction whenever there was any obstacle in its way. The toy car also has small headlights above the crash guard that occasionally flicker while it is on.

The car always had my complete attention. I loved playing with it so much that I used to discharge the batteries quickly. I liked showing off my bright red car to all my friends in the neighbourhood and in my school. I did this because none of my friends had any toy cars like this. That is why I liked taking my toy to my friends with pride and loved the look of awe in their eyes for my favourite toy car.

This one time, I had taken my toy car to school without my parents' permission to play with it during school hours. Unfortunately, my teachers saw me playing with it and made a call to my parents. I received a great scolding at home for doing so, and as a punishment, my car was taken away from me.

Conclusion

I was pretty protective and possessive about my car. I did not let anyone touch it without my permission. After my parents took it away, I could not play with it for a very long time, but now I keep it in my room on the shelf. Even though it does not shine as it is not a new toy anymore, I am still very emotionally attached to it. This is why I have never been able to part ways with it because it will always bring back nostalgic memories of my childhood.
