My dear friend, 
Something happened last week, which I want to tell you. I wanted to buy a well for my fields because I needed water for irrigation. I bought a well from my neighbour, but the next day he stopped me from taking water. He said that he had sold only the well and not the water.

I was very worried and did not know what to do. So, I went to the village chief and told her everything. She called a meeting of the Panchayat. Both of us explained our sides in front of the villagers.

After listening carefully, the Panchayat gave a wise decision. They said that if the neighbour had not sold the water, then he should remove it or use it immediately. Otherwise, the water would belong to me. Hearing this, my neighbour realised his mistake. He apologised to me and also paid a fine.

I felt very happy and relieved. The decision of the Panchayat was fair and wise.
