    Think, Find, Write: Research Writing Skills for Class 4  

    This Grade 4 research writing worksheet is carefully designed to help students learn how to gather information, identify key facts, separate opinions, and organise ideas clearly in writing. Through engaging passages and guided tasks, learners practise reading attentively, selecting relevant details, and presenting information in a structured and meaningful way. The worksheet builds strong foundational research and writing habits by encouraging students to think logically, write clearly, and support their ideas with factual evidence.

    Using provided notes, students write an informative paragraph on “Why Clean Drinking Water Is Important” by rewriting ideas in their own words and ending with a strong conclusion.

    Sea turtles are marine animals that play an important role in keeping ocean ecosystems healthy.

    1. Sea turtles live in oceans around the world.  
    2. They help maintain healthy seagrass beds and coral reefs.  
    3. Sea turtles have been living on Earth for millions of years.  

    Exercise 3 – Note-Making from a Passage (Volcanoes)  
    1. Volcanoes are openings in the Earth’s surface.  
    2. Lava, ash, and gases come out during eruptions.  
    3. Some volcanoes are active, while others are dormant.  
    4. Volcanoes can form mountains and islands.  
    5. Scientists study volcanoes to predict eruptions and reduce danger.  

    Exercise 4 – Short Research Paragraph Writing (Sample Answer)  
    Bees help plants grow in many important ways. When bees visit flowers to collect nectar, they carry pollen from one flower to another. This process is called pollination. Pollination helps plants produce fruits, seeds, and vegetables. Without bees, many plants would not be able to grow properly. Therefore, bees are very important for plants and food production.  

    Exercise 5 – Informative Paragraph Using Notes (Sample Answer)  
    Clean drinking water is important for staying healthy. It helps our body digest food and keeps us active. Clean water prevents the spread of diseases caused by germs. People also need clean water for cooking and washing. Without safe drinking water, people can fall sick easily. That is why protecting clean water sources is very important.
