This “thank you speech” is a must read!

Good evening to everyone present today.

I'm tempted to pinch myself since this feels so unreal.

I've been working and waiting for this opportunity for quite a long time. I imagined myself accepting this prize, crying with excitement, and shouting nonstop to the crowd, almost ranting my heart out. But I'm at a loss for words today. This moment has eluded me for so long that I'm at a loss for words as to how it makes me feel.

A small-town youngster crossed the cobblestone streets of [place name], carrying a rug pack over his shoulders. His face was weathered, yet his bright eyes gleamed in the sunlight. The long walk had hardened his fragile feet, yet he still had the energy to overcome every challenge.

Hopes and disappointments, wins and failures, doubts and confidence, criticism and validation are all part of the mix. I wouldn't say the road was simple to travel, and I wouldn't call myself unique. I am convinced that anyone who sets out to do something will outperform those who do not even try.

I didn't have an exceptionally high IQ or a keen and quick intellect. Even if you don't think I'm deserving of this honor, there are plenty of reasons why I'm here today, even if I don't have the sharpest of minds. I'm here because I worked hard and gave my all to achieve my goal.

I made numerous compromises along the way, some of which caused me to doubt my goal. Some believed I was insane for pursuing something solely to obtain it. People warned me that it wouldn't feel good if I actually did it. People warned me that the chase would be far more enjoyable than the prize. I agree with them now as I accept this great honor. I don't feel well. In fact, I don't feel anything other than immense excitement and thankfulness for everything and for everyone who has helped me achieve this goal.

I want to express my gratitude to my mother for her unwavering support and to my pals Ram and Varun for their constant reassurance. And I'd like to express my appreciation for my wife, who was there for me when I was still a dreamer and is still here to help me realize that dream. Finally, I'd like to express my gratitude to the Almighty God. He put me through severe challenges, but he also gave me the strength to pass them; he gave me doubts and red flags and the determination to overcome them. I am grateful to God for his wisdom and kindness.

I sincerely thank and express my gratitude to everyone who has played a role in my life and this journey.
